I'd disagree, follow the factory diagnostics process which I think only needed a multimeter and is arranged by symptom - check.

I built the system on my 100" Bowler using parts from Jetex, it's a bit like lego.
I used 2.0" for the y-piece to 2.5" thereafter - might be worth a look if you can weld. |

Don't bother with the lockstop plates, they are not meant to be there. The lockstop bolts work perfectly well when stopping against the swivel ball flange.

Do you have the 3.9 exhaust setup?
Probably as well to get the distributor rebuilt and give the ignition system a refresh - Lumenition is another thing to consider. |

| Yep, immobiliser and, indirectly doors open too. Not sure if it illuminates on bonnet open as well but there is a bonnet state switch on the alarm/immobiliser system. |

That's a Voltmeter and would be wired between ignition live (white) via a fuse or the same supply as coolant / fuel gauge (green - already fused) and black to the bulkhead.
