You can buy an inline cut out that turns the fridge off when the battery voltage drops beyond a certain level. The good thing is your car will start, the bad is your beer may get warm.

I've just read the reviews and it seems there is some important technical information missing.

I'm no expert but it maybe a "sticky" solenoid and the extra battery is giving enough power to get it going.
I too would recommend going to a specialist vehicle electrician.

Stick a P.A.Y.G. SIM card in, add £10 credit and it will last ages.

I use a couple of these, they are widely available on Amazon and EBay and work a treat as another security layer.
I have one permanently wired and another running off its own and an external battery.
