The 2.2 has an electric fuel pump while the 2.4 doesnt.

so you're better off in a 2.4. 1 less thing to go wrong.

have a look at the wiring diagrams.

The oe pumps that i fitted seem to be noisy after I swapped mine. But it's been running for over 3yrs. So I'd say, if noise is the problem, then buy original, if not, stick with what works.
