The UJs on the prop shafts can make strange noises. Try to grease them.
Thanks for pointing out the UJ, the rear one on the front prop is completely shagged so I think that’s probably the culprit ... |

Check the integrity of the pipes from the turbo to the intercooler and intercooler to manifold, and the intercooler itself. It could be a leak in a hose squealing under pressure.

No nothing like that, the car drives and feels perfectly normal. The clutch was replaced last April so I’d like to think that can ruled out
