Would the steering not be wobbling all the time if it was a wheel? It doesn't do it all the time, its usually around 50mph and on throttle lift.

Another thing to consider is the state of your wheel bearings too as this can also cause wheel wobble, do you know when they were last changed ?

I fitted Saab 9-5 estate seats to my 110 a few years ago both front and rear, Had to do a little metal engineering on the rear seat but they are all heated and work fine.
