Bin the heat shield.
Use a short 1/4" 10mm with a UJ/knuckle and the "screw driver" handle commonly in the halfords sets. Bit of a faff but comes off.

Also owning a TDV8 L322 fatty, the TD5 drives/delivers the same sort of drive. It’s not got the same power/torque, but is a good deal lighter
