I went through and checked all connections, relays, fuses etc. and was all good, so concluded ECU must have died.

Success it was the crank damper.
Getting it off was relatively easy actually, used the timing pin to lock the engine at the flywheel, and with a breaker bar it came off fairly easy, I suspect it w ... |

Ok, so I’ve been chasing a rattling type sound for a while now. Not sure how it comes across on your speakers etc, but it’s a metallic type tapping/rattling.

| Worth noting, I have been told by several people, that Td5 heads really don't like being skimmed, they have a thin hardened layer that is lost when they're skimmed. |
