Betty's new life in Canada
No idea if anyone recognises my 90, it was in LRO a few times and I've owned it 15 years since I was 18 and drove it pretty much everyday since.

3 years ago I took a job out here in Vancouver, left the 90 behind and bought a new Jeep Rubicon. Absolutely loved it, but it was time to make the most of used car prices, and do what I should have done from day 1 and import my 90 out here.

Some of her on UK adventures, she's been on most of the lanes in Wales, Peaks, Lake District, Salisbury Plain etc:

Finally here!!!:

Inspection passed with flying colours:

First modification, ARB classic bumper, ComeUp 9500lb winch, IPF driving lights, my inspiration being what appears to be period correct Australian accessory spec

Ready for some Canadian adventures:

That's it for now. Most likely going to try and focus on catching up with maintenance and overhauling some of the mechanicals this year rather than modifications. I'd like to fit new propshafts, some locking diffs and refresh the box/tbox, changing ratios to something better suited to covering long highway distances here and across the border.

Then I'll try and deal with some of the cosmetics and some overland modifications. 2003 Defender 90 Td5 CSW Belize Green - "Betty"

Brilliant to be reunited with your 90 Thumbs Up

Can I ask how you have found insuring a RHD in Canada? I have heard that it is getting ridiculously expensive.

Sounds like it depends where you are in Canada.

In BC, we only have the one (monopoly) ICBC insurance company. They didn't seem to care at all, thinking about it, I'm not sure they even asked or cared when registering the vehicle. 2003 Defender 90 Td5 CSW Belize Green - "Betty"

Great thanks, dont think I'll be back anytime soon!

ARB is great. Thought it might be a bit much on a 90, but it adds a reassuring amount of protection and a nice place to mount the extra lights. People also think twice before cutting me up too. 2003 Defender 90 Td5 CSW Belize Green - "Betty"

Few further additions and some photos from last summers trip down to Oregon and also Whipsaw, probably BC's most famous off road trail.

Welcome Adsey, long time no see!

That photoshoot seems like a lifetime ago now, still got my copy in a box somewhere with the CD of photos. I’ve recently got back into defender ownership after a long time out in the four wheel wilderness.
Bet you get a bit more snow than we used to on the South Downs.
