Ah. I thought it was the ionisation thingy you were talking about. I have the climate thing on my app. Works a treat but thought it came standard. Eiger Grey MY23 D250 SE with bits. Known as Noddy. |

Definitely get the proper fixed towbar, the detachable one is rubbish.

Why do you say that? I was apprehensive about the detachable as we do a lot of very heavy towing and the fixed wasn’t available when we ordered, but we’ve had no hassle at all. It’s still got zero play in it after 2 years work.

Because the receiver rusts within a year or so, meaning the tow ball section won’t locate properly without a hammer. The replacement (under warranty) did the same in one winter, so I bought a fixed one instead. |

Fair enough, not a problem I’d come across but I covered the receiver and socket in grease the first time I used it, and never took it off again.

Yes, just contact us. We will do a partial exchange. https://www.gap-diagnostic.com/shop/exchange/ Brakes on the D300 can be modified to fit 18's (smaller rear calipers). But unless you are towing a heavy un-braked trailer or towing through mountains regularly, I can't imagine that the D250's brakes won't suffice.

Thanks for all the advice/ information, I have revisited my build and gone for a D250 with more toys and it still came out cheaper than the D300 I originally was looking at.

Sadly not, tried that as well as grease etc. but both the original and replacement are rusted. Too much road salt. |

https://accessories.landrover.com/gb/en/la...-pre-23my/ I’ve got an aftermarket one which looks pretty good and is much cheaper, but obviously I’ll need to install it myself. Because I have an existing genuine towbar I can reuse the electrics from it and avoid the hassle of integrating an aftermarket harness into the vehicle systems, which is the main issue with non-LR towbars. |
