Heater always hot!!
Hi

I’ve had a little search but can’t find anything… but I’m still pretty new to the forum! So apologies if this is a common question. My 2.4 90 has been parked up at the garage for the last 6 weeks (don’t ask!!) and on the journey home today I couldn’t get the heater to stop producing hot air. Adjusting the temp dial only made minimal difference. Any suggestions on where I should start to look tomorrow?

Thanks all.

Open the bonnet and check the heater cables on the heat matrix. It’s on the passenger side of the bulkhead. Mine needed some wd40 and worked fine after.

Mine did just the same, I worked out it was not shutting off (moving to the right as you look at it from the open bonnet). Only by a tiny movement but it just kept the heater hot. I re set the cable at the heater valve end and it has been fine since. 2010 XS USW

Had some similar issues myself
Sometimes they would stay hot
sometimes one side would be hot the other cold
I found fitting a spring to the manifold helped somewhat
I’ve ordered a replacement manifold to try try
