Look forward to seeing yours but for me it doesn’t make sense whilst the 2.4 runs well. Maybe one day if it dies a death.

Injector cover has been cracked since I've owned the Defender which bugged me, but not enough to pay £55 for a new one. Recently picked up a genuine replacement from ebay

Back in April Shocked my blower began to work only on speed 3 - suspected blower resistor pack failure.

I ordered a new JLR part 11th April but by mid June it was still on backorder so I cancelled and went for an OEM replacement.

New part arrived within two days and I fitted it today - fiddly but ten mins later I now have blowers on speed 1, 2 and 3 again Thumbs Up

New OEM part on the left, original one on the right

Sailed through another MOT this morning. Did have one advisory... "Oil leak, but not excessive"

I think this might be a weepy power steering reservoir hose - will investigate. The MOT tester did add "show me a Defender without an oil leak" Laughing > 110 XS Double Cab

Fitted a new clutch switch which has cured the revs hanging between gear changes

Space is tight in there so I cut the ring off the old switch which allows you to remove the electrical connector and get a grip on the switch body to rotate it out with grips whilst holding the adapter fitting with a spanner to prevent it from unscrewing from the master cylinder

This is what is left and can be turned out with grips

New turbo is here. Will get it fitted when I return from holiday. The VNT vanes have gone stiff on mine and it was only around £80 more for a brand new turbo rather than refurbishing the old one

when changing your clutch switch did you loose any fluid / have to re-bleed the clutch or does it have no hydraulic connection??

I'd like more details on the slider/sill seal. I also have this gap and would like it sealed up for a neater look like you Thumbs Up

Is it one of those hollow D seals with the adhesive on it? Is it possible to stick it on with the rock and tree sliders in place?

After unscrewing the old switch I filled the port with fluid in a syringe then screwed in the switch. The excess fluid was displaced and no bleeding required. > 110 XS Double Cab

New turbo is on. A fiddly job to say the least.

Wasted far too much time trying to reconnect the oil drain to the under side of the turbo flange in situ until finally deciding to pull the oil drain from the engine block, connect the oil drain to the turbo on the bench then drop the lot into place in one piece. Reconnect the oil drain to the block and job done. Would recommend this approach to others.

Fitted new gaskets throughout:
- New head to exhaust manifold gasket
- New exhaust manifold to EGR valve gasket
- New Exhaust manifold to turbo gasket
- New turbo to downpipe gasket

Initial thoughts are that it comes on boost lower in the rev range and more aggressively but perhaps doesn't boost as hard higher in the revs - think that's a good thing though as diesel's should make power/be driven lower in the rev range

Couple of pics but I ran out of light so they aren't the best.

Do you know the part number for the manifold to EGR cooler gasket, please? I was fooled by the manual which says that there is no gasket fitted to this joint when I swapped manifolds yesterday but then spotted the old one on the ground. Sad

I'm having trouble finding it in LRcat.
