12v Electric Impact - Recommended
Just a recommendation, no affiliation or anyhting....

Earlier this year I got a little Milwaukee M12 3/8" impact driver. I already had the batteries for other stuff and it was on offer for just under £90 so I treated myself.

I was thinking with it being so small and only 12v it would probably be quite limited, but it's turned out to be absolutely brilliant. It will undo Defender wheel nuts without breaking a sweat for example. The only time I might need something bigger is things like the big hub nuts on fwd cars.

I've previously had 240v mains gun which was pretty weak, and an air gun that my compressor couldn't keep up with.

Well pleased with it.

I have been contemplating a Milwaukee 18v product.
I have noticed that a couple of the aftermarket batteries are quoted as both Dewalt and Milwaukee. Are the batteries transferable between them?
I have a few 18v Dewalt tools already.

No, you can't put a DeWalt battery in Milwaukee or vice a versa, they must have some sort of adapter. 2007 110 TDCi Station Wagon XS

You can run an 18 volt DeWalt tool off a Milwaukee M18 battery using an inexpensive adaptor.

I’ve got near enough the same set, amazing tools.

I’ve also got a set of Keilder ones for the muddy job’s, best value for money out there IMO.

Don't get the terminology confused or you could end up buying the wrong product. Wrenches take square drives - as in sockets. Drivers take small hex drives - as in screwdriver bits.

Yes, it's great

I might try and get a pic of my Milwaukee guns if I get a chance at the weekend. The short/stubby ones are amazingly versatile. If I was buying one I'd get the stubby mid torque in 18V, although I agree with other posters that if I was invested in another battery platform that I hear good things about Dewalt, Makita, Bosch etc. I wouldn't want to be without one.

The 90 degree impact (not power ratchet) is a beast in 12V
