Mounting speakers in roof of 110 DCPU?
Hi all, where can I mount rear speakers in the roof of a 110 double cab pickup? Is the roof lining strong enough to take the weight without sagging? How easily can I access behind the roof lining to run the speakers and cut the holes? I can’t mount below the rear seats as use that space for other things. Thanks in advance

Have you considered putting them in the doors? That's where I've put some in my 110 CSW. I doubt the LR headlining will support the weight of a speaker - mine is sagging under its own weight, without the help of a pair of 400g speakers.

I pair of 10cm or 13cm speakers with a spacer would fit a treat. I have 10cm speakers in mine using the genuine Land Rover speaker spacer that normally goes under the dash. It just steps the magnet out of the way of the window winding mechanism.

Ignore the arrow, speaker can be seen in situ in nearside rear door

La Salle do a headling which includes a speaker part, if you wanted to replace the entire headlining to fix the sag, but it is not a cheap option!

In the end I decided to go with fitting behind the seats in the corners.

A little CAD work (Cardboard Aided Design) for some aluminium panels and some dirty seam sealer and they’re in.

Was coming on to post the same thing you posted phillips!

Exactly what I did, then mounted the tweeters in the C pillar below the seatbelt and an amp on the rear bulkhead. Worked perfectly Instagram @defender_ventures

Same...did mine in MDF,seems to have stood up quite well.

I mounted mine using two M5 tapped holes that are in my C pillar.
