TD5 1999 - Starting problems / immobilizer
Good morning,

Im in the need of some good advice / pointers now...

A little history first;

Bought a used Defender 110 TD5 with starting issues, knew about the problems when I bought it. Thats also the reason for buying it cheap. Anyways; It has problems with starting. Its not starting at all, meaning starter doesnt turn.

So to the facts;

Hooked up my nanocom thinking the ECU just needed to re-learn its security code. Used the FOB to disarm the AS10 and the famous light in the dash disappeared. Press "Security status" and the ECU is armed / mobilized? Changed some parameters in the AS10 as that might give me some luck, but no reaction at all.

I have an other 110 so I took that AS10 to test if the original AS10 was foobar, but that aint fixing my problems at all. ECU is till mobilized.

Ive tested the security cable from the AS10 down to PIN 34 at the MSB-ECU. Its fine and has no issues.

Yesterday I took VE+ straight on the battery to test the starter and thats working fine, but it wont fire due to lack of signals from the ECU to open the injectors (??).

Anyways, thats where I am now...

All fuses etc check out and are fine.

Havent got time to test the starter relay yet, but AS10 runs an other realy as well?

pointers / advice is more than welcome Smile

Look into engine ECU with Nanocom - it should tell you, if this ECU is imobilized or not.
When 10AS is imobilized, it is blocking the stater relay, if engine ECU is imobilized, it is blocking injectors controll. "Drobek" = The Small One - Discovery 2, "BlufĂnek" = The Blue Thing - Defender 130, and for me at least Ford Mondeo Smile

Thanks MadTom!

Yeah, the AS10 is demobilized, but still no crank. So ill probaly need to look into the starter relay.

But ECU let it self be de-mobilized for some reason.
