Towed caravan 1st time today, some observations...
I had to get the caravan out of storage today. So first time towing with the new Defender.

Hitching up was not as troublesome as it was with my old TD5 90. The rear door will clear the jockey wheel handle if you raise the suspension. The buttons inside the boot came in very useful for this. My car lowers when switched off, so it’s quick and easy to raise it up to shut the rear door. At normal height it just clears, so should not be an issue getting the dogs out at service’s like it was with the old one.

The tow bar was a bit off a pain to get in the socket. Probably because it’s new I had to really ram it home to be able to get the key out. Obviously if you can’t turn and get the key out it’s not in properly. The 13 pin electric socket was also a bit stiff to connect. A bit of silicone spray will help.

Towing was very easy as I expected. Rear view cameras set to towing mode work well and let you keep an eye on things. I’ve not setup the caravan with its target sticker yet.

Mine has the camera rear view mirror, which gives a great view of the front roof of the caravan! I can’t help thinking there is mileage in providing an accessory camera to feed into the system that can attach to the rear of the caravan.

Off to the Lakes for its first holiday next week. Looking forward to it so much! 2021 Defender 110 X-Dynamic HSE D300 MHEV

Gareth i have put this idea forward to Damian D on the FB Owners group, he is one of the leads for
the Pivi development/improvement team at Land Rover. If you are on the "All New Defenders Owner Group"
you should be able to find his latest post in regard to improvements and feedback and maybe add your voice
to the ask Thumbs Up

Cheers

Mine doesn't seem to have the intelligence to stop the rear parking sensors screaming at you all the time when reversing with a trailer, maybe i'm doing something wrong. Also was pretty disappointed not to be able to Name the trailers you add in the ICE, I have several with different dimensions, but now ones a horsebox and the other is a caravan apparently 3 Landrovers

My sensors were disabled when it was plugged into the caravan, so I’d suggest your plug is not wired properly or it’s not setup properly in the ccf file?

I agree it would be good to name a trailer. I’ve only got one caravan so not an issue for me, but I can see your point. 2021 Defender 110 X-Dynamic HSE D300 MHEV

Don't quote me on this but I think it only disables alarm when cable connected. Alternative is to touch the speaker icon on top right of video screen to silence the alarm. 90S D250 fuji and loving it.

Took the Eriba Puck out to a friend's garage to do some maintenance on it before a camping trip next week.
The P300 110 doesn't even know its back there - great tow vehicle!

Hello JackW

Thumbs Up

Most Eriba's being or less the same height and width as a Land Rover, together with a their 'bullet nose', tow exceptionally well...

Don't think we will ever pass each other, but that would justify a double wave Cool Cool SKIP

Don't think we will pass each other since there is a big pond between us called the Atlantic Ocean.
I've owned three different Eriba caravans and they are ideal for towing behind Land Rovers.
