2014 Defender 110 Puma 2.2 SW Keswick Green
Added Boost and EGT Gauges
I thought I’d share some pics of the two gauges I added to the Puma. I used existing bolts and bolt holes on the dash to mount these pods. They originally came in chrome so I scuffed and painted with bedliner linex type thing I had laying around from a past project. I’m very pleased with the outcome because they are not intrusive to the viewing area which is already so small. It was also very easy to run the wires straight down to the dash for power and to the bulkhead. I had the probes installed by a local landy specialist because I’m not confident with a tap etc. I then finished up in my car park. I almost went with a MUD pod but again the defender has such limited viewing window as it is that would just add another thing to get in the way. The right hand EGT looks a little limp but the screw had come lose but rest assured it’s aimed up like the turbo now

Looks good but would have thought plugging in an Ultragauge would have been a lot easier?

Gives boost and temperature at Cat which is close enough to EGR.

That would have been a good
Option too. Looks to do more as well. I’d ultimately like to go with a Madman but I really dig the analog gauges. Great set up you have!

Temperature at Cat must be a 2.2 thing? There's no temperature sensor around there on a 2.4, is there?

Nice job, by the way, big110. I don't think you can have too many gauges. And I'm definitely with you on analogue. I use Torque Pro on an old Android phone, but it's not the same.

Maybe it’s the DPF probe that’s picking up the temp?

Looking at the 2012 wiring diagram/workshop manual (which I should have done first) the 2.2 has a three EGT sensors: post DPF, pre-catalytic, post-catalytic. Lots of choice.
