I would leave it floating rather than glued down, wood can expand and contract a fair amount over the course of a year. You will need some sort of offset threshold and I would make it so that it clamps under the existing threshold so that you don’t foul the door closing but it holds everything in place. Keep us updated with pics. Oh, I’d go teak rather than Oak, teak is used in boats all aver the world as it has a tighter grain and is less prone to taking in moisture.

Teak is better suited to the task.
It tolerates moisture and heat better than oak. Oak is properly lively in those conditions. If you are absolutely sure you don’t want to ever get it back out, one of the adhesives you use to stick down engineered and solid wood. Would be an utter pest to remove. Why not make it onto plywood as a lift out unit? |
