Wooden Flooring Tips/tricks?
I’m well set to lay some teak or hard oak in the rear floor of the 110. Curious how many have done this?

Assume it’s been glued down?

Lastly I’m curious how you manage the threshold at the rear door? I’ve got a stainless one for but with an additional 1/2” assume I’ll need some sort of either filler plate or a new bit that has a longer bend to accommodate the height of the chosen flooring.

Cheers

I would leave it floating rather than glued down, wood can expand and contract a fair amount over the course of a year. You will need some sort of offset threshold and I would make it so that it clamps under the existing threshold so that you don’t foul the door closing but it holds everything in place. Keep us updated with pics. Oh, I’d go teak rather than Oak, teak is used in boats all aver the world as it has a tighter grain and is less prone to taking in moisture.

Teak is better suited to the task.
It tolerates moisture and heat better than oak. Oak is properly lively in those conditions.
If you are absolutely sure you don’t want to ever get it back out, one of the adhesives you use to stick down engineered and solid wood. Would be an utter pest to remove.
Why not make it onto plywood as a lift out unit?
