It's interesting that they are offering driveline options:

RWD with a solid rear axle
Dual RWD with a solid rear axle
AWD with portal gears and rear independent suspension

Then there's this:

It's all looking very nice, albeit a little expensive and boutique-like; and development seems quite slow.

I've forgotten where and by who it is going to be manufacturerd ~ or has it not been announced yet?

I can't remember. Honestly it's so hard to keep up with EV news as everything is moving so quickly. WARNING.

Nice update article:

Bollinger Motors Pursues Solid, Practical EV Lineup

"Bollinger Motors will roll out the beta versions early next year so fleet operations can test them out. That will help the manufacturer continue to fine tune its final produced product. It does not have any production estimates yet to share publicly."

"The company has letters of intent from fleets and pre-orders with deposits down from consumer customers. Bollinger Motors plans to begin producing its first wave of vehicles in late 2022 and into early 2023."

Just spotted this! Brilliant.

I wish INEOS had used the 'cardboard' modeling tech. Love it.

I have got to add, it seems that EV development design, gets away with flat fronted vehicles. Even with plenty of power and being silent to pedestrians. No apologies when you are saving the planet.

Apart from the ridiculous pricing. The B1 has to be the most appealing replacement for my Defender, or even addition to my garage.

What I like is:

- American company, manufactured in America (I just like that kind of stuff - UK car, UK made etc..)
- Modular design
- Well thought out, and simple
- Minimal design, especially the interior
- Functional, there are so many storage spots and I often carry 3m long rolls of paper.
- Easy to work on and possibly very low maintenance
- Minimal dash - genius

Concerns:

- Maintenance on the portal hubs? I really prefer the Magna units, with sacrifice of clearance.
- Low volume, machined in-house: will engineering be bulletproof, or just great to look at?

All in all, I really just like the basic build of this truck. I really don't need huge screens, connectivity, complex formed plastic, leather, heater or A/C.

Hoping down the line, pricing will become reasonable Laughing

Video is appreciated, thanks Supercat.

Love this startup way of car biz. Forget all those: "oops you spotted us with your long lens" spy pics of monochrome digi camo cars, or wait 5 years for your new Land Rover and sod you if you don't like it! This is much better from the likes of Ineos and Bollinger.

Great info. The entry price is still too harsh for me, even with Bollinger's 10 year cost comparisons??? Although, notable mention, the concept of a company speccing 10 year plan of ownership. I'd buy into that. If the cells need to be refurbished along the way, that's fine.

Bollinger's diesel pack/cell EV analogy, meaning - more power over shorter distances. I hope they address that for the consumer market (or any market). Enough torque for the job to get done, with great distance capability - that sounds more diesel to me.

Shame, it appears to be grinding to a stop...

"Bollinger Pickup Truck And SUV Production Postponed To Focus On Commercial Business
In a statement released this week, Bollinger CEO Robert Bollinger said the company has decided to postpone consumer-truck production and delivery indefinitely as it focuses more of its resources on the commercial and fleet side of its business.

“We started Bollinger Motors in 2015 with a dream and a desire to make the best trucks possible,” Bollinger said. “We’ve put countless hours of hard work and passion into making something that makes us proud. However, today, we’re postponing the consumer trucks’ development and shifting our focus to commercial trucks and fleets.”

"Bollinger says it will soon begin refunding deposits for customers who’d previously reserved the B1 and B2. More details on its fleet business strategy should be divulged in the near future."
