2011 Defender 110 Puma 2.4 USW Stornoway Grey
as far as the disc brake goes - superb bit of kit, i have them fitted to both my off roaders. they always work after been dragged through the muck regularly without having to clean them out - unlike my exp with a std drum on when used in the same situations.

i can't see why the centre silencer has to be removed though - unless caliper mounting fouls it, i am sure Si could advise. Cheers

@jst - did you silicone the pad into the caliper (as optional per instructions) or just fit it straight out of the box?

My X-Brake kit just arrived - looks the business. Centre silencer will be unaffected Thumbs Up
Now I have to find out how it could affect the warranty. In any event I will fit it as soon as possible as my handbrake is still a piece of rattling junk Evil or Very Mad
Simon at X-Eng was brilliant - we had a long conversation and I learned about loads of Defender stuff.
He seems very knowledgeable - can really recommend his company (assuming all goes to plan).

Do you need a new cable and cable tube???

My cable does not have an "eye" at the brake end, just a swagged end.

Anything TD5 onwards needs a new (or rather the older-type) cable to fit the caliper connector. I bought one with the kit. The Puma's cable disappears inside the brake and is no good. It's rather cool actually because all the adjustment on the old cable is at the brake end (no more fiddling behind the seat box Smile
You can download the instructions on the X-eng website.

The only issue with these is due to the fact it is after all a transmission brake and you always get a small roll back or forward on steep hills. Other than that escellent Thumbs Up

Have finally completed and tested the Handbrake, works great. Had a problem of my own making and Simon from X-Eng sorted immediately. That's service. Mr. Green
Would have no hesitation recommending or using his company in the future.
