so do td5's run LT230's? the same as 200/300's? Or?

We'd prefer to use a good secondhand Disco unit, rather than an Ashcroft one to be honest, mainly down to cost (tight Northerners ya see Laughing )

Yes, they all run the same kind of t/box, LT230. even the new puma defenders use a 1.2

The discovery box is an LT230Q... Quiet(er) gears apparently. Rolling Eyes in 1.2:1 flavour.

Td5 defenders are 1.4

I did my transfer box on my td5, bought the kit from ashcroft, made the truck much much quieter and raised the gearing but not by much. the kit was about £300 and fitting cost over £600 so do the math before jumping in.

if you take the ashcroft one day swap, be aware they will give you a donor t-box because it takes time to do the rebuild... i could be corrected on this - anyone ?

Not sure that's correct - the TR90 went in for a new gearbox and I had the ratios done at the same time (£260ish extra) and they swapped the ratios out in my existing transfer box. John

sorry you are mistaken, if we do the ratio swap we chnage the gears in your unit, if you order a rebuilt unit then it's changed for another
