This is the first I've had the step on (apart from the TR) mainly because it saves me bending the rear step when the kids have left it down.

I've seen sliders bolted to the NAS step which I may try if it becomes an issue. Failing that I have an adjustable tow bar in the garage from the 07 Thumbs Up John

Swapped out the wiper relay today for the VW '99' to give me a variable speed intermittent wipe and found, then fitted the Defender2 forum sticker that Martin sent me. Thumbs Up John

Time for some updates.

It has now just done 4,000 miles and is still great to drive. No major problems however the 'handbrake rattle' is still there, Lancasters adjusted it once then I left it with them to have another look at it whilst they refitted the wingtops (fittings weren't flush the first time) and they stripped and cleaned it all. This seemed to fix the problem for a week or two but it has come back again.

I'm fairly certain it is the handbrake as it seems hot to the touch after driving which I wouldn't expect normally.

Other news is the fitting of a Nakatanenga glove box and the 'almost' fitting of a Raptor cubby box which would have fouled the transfer knob and stuck out over the second row footwell too much. Id like to fit an under cubby safe instead from Brendan but need to find the cash first ...... John

Hi JSG,

Have you had the handbrake rattle fixed yet, just appeared on mine yesterday ( car was only 2 hours old and 5 miles on the clock).

No - it seems to be a lot better but still does it sometimes - the handbrake needs adjusting but I suspect that will make it worse.

I will book it in as it also has a sticky rear off side door lock motor. John
