Must say, they are not the most complicated controls in the world of car heaters, if a light does go out. Hot or cold; speed 1, 2, 3; Fresh or recirculated air; vents. Monsieur Le Grenadier

Open bonnet location heater control valve and manually push it to the cold side. Then you get only cold, if you have aircon it’s lovely Searching for my first Defender...and started just as Covid hit, so talk about timing.

5 months after starting the search I found it, and here is the details

👍🏻 I even had the one in the clock go recently, that was a pain in its self and sadly there isn’t an LED replacement for that as it doesn’t work for that. Thumbs Up

Just looking at the link for the heater control Bulbs, the same supplier lists this;
www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Land-Rover-Defender-TDC...Sww15anblp

for the clock! Don`t drive faster than your angel can fly!

Nicam - Yep, that exactly what I have for the clock and it works. (The sleeved type bulb).
Saves buying a new £68 or so clock for the sake of a bulb. :
The LED one is new, I think they've only just done that the last 6months or so as when I looked they didn't exist.

I do that each Spring and then let it get stuck again at the end of the for Jools B’s style heating in time for the winter season. Thumbs Up Monsieur Le Grenadier

Guys do you know what the part number is for the heater slider bulbs?

I ordered the LEDs from this eBay seller a year ago and they fitted fine. A year later they need replacing again. I've repeated the order but the bulbs sent this time are shorter and don't work.

I'm trying to find another seller with the right bulbs but i'm not sure what to search for Sad

Does anyone know the official size or part number for these?

I went LED on those once and they were no good, they failed in less than a year and lasted less time than even these ones. I have these and they fit perfect.
I’m sure they won’t last 6 months like the LED ones did. Diesel$ Live$ Matter. ⛽️🛢️👨‍🔧🧰⚙️ RED, WHITE & BOOST! 🇬🇧

Yes, they are a real disappointment which is a pity. I was hoping it would positively be the opposite and last longer.
They are simply poor quality. Diesel$ Live$ Matter. ⛽️🛢️👨‍🔧🧰⚙️ RED, WHITE & BOOST! 🇬🇧

Headlight Level Switch
Interesting reading this thread.

I purchased some replacement LED's for the dash but found them to be very directional and they do not light up everywhere they should. I changed them recently as part of upgrading the centre console to fit a double DIN head-unit. I've just ordered some of the LED's from the link earlier in the thread which looking for the picture posted, look much better. I've also ordered some standard bulbs, just in case it does look rubbish, I have options. May end up going back to bulbs, we'll see.

So I've noticed that the headlight level switch on mine is not illuminated and I seem to recall it was. So just seeking confirmation here and I guess if it was illuminated then it'll be a case of buying a new switch?

Cheers ...
