I've taken to using our 1.0 Polo most of the time. It is for my daughter who turns 17 in May, but it is also a really nice car to drive, especially at 55+mpg.

A few years back my old neighbour swapped her year old VW Polo for a new VW Polo as it had better fuel economy.

Try speaking with folk about the cost to change, depreciation etc and they gloss over, they only see the wallet hit at the pump but so many folk work like that. A pal of mine used to buy old v12 jags etc to run around in and when you questioned the single digit fuel economy he'd remind you the car cost him £1500 and would last a few years add that to his fuel bill and it was still way less than depreciation on a mondeo/golf/whatever.... and he was driving a V12 jag....

/\ I can relate to that. A nice XJS in the matching colour and interior trim to the P38 would be ideal!

When you say it like that it makes me even more pleased that I am in no position to buy a new V8 Defender…… Shocked
