Evening,
I've got the same problem, apparently needs a wiring harness component, having been told it needed a new wiring loom.

The SSM is for the 6 cylinder Petrol engine no mention of the diesels. Pangea Green D250 90 HSE with Air Suspension, Off-road Pack, Towing Pack, Black Contrast roof , rear recovery eyes, Front bash plate, Classic flaps all round, extended wheel arch kit and a few bits from PowerfulUK Expel Clear Gloss PPF to come

Correct ~ but better to know this than not surely?

Just how much of the software do you think is written from a blank sheet, rather than amended/shared from existing?

My D200 six pot does pick erratic times to do Stop/Start - but I don't really care, I'd probably switch it off if I could bother to find out how to do it (if even possible) - less wear/tear quite frankly, and I do so few miles the impact is basically nothing. Steve N | 21MY Defender | 08MY Discovery 3 (history) | 06MY Discovery 3 (ancient history)

Mine has not worked since Day 1 which I think I'm ok with - it would probably annoy me if it were on. '21 L663 X-Dyn HSE P400 Carpathian

On my D250 it does not work if the car has rested for a few days and kicks in after a few miles when the battery has recharged. Certainly does not work under any conditions when the a/c is on. Dealer says this is normal.

I've had my car since last Wednesday and the stop/start hasn't worked up until tonight when for some reason it seems to be functioning as normal now Confused Cheers Ian

If it judges that cabin climate will be OK even without AC compressor running, so if it's hot or sunny outside stop/start is inhibited so that AC can function.
I've found the system pretty predictable, in all normal cases it functions seamlessly and the re-start is so quick so there is not a noticeable lag in driving away.
If you for some reason want to prevent a stop, it's just to use a light foot on the brake when stopped. The engine stop is only triggered with a fairly firm press on the brake pedal when the car is stationary. 110 SE D200 MY21 Tasman blue

That's a clever system. Does it know if the cabin is damp, muggy and steamed-up so the a/c acts as a dehumidifier?

I concur with #1784 - turn the climate setting to the outside temperature or higher and the stop/start works fine and as designed - select a lower temperature that the fridge compressor starts to work then auto stop/start is inhibited even if the cabin temperature is low enough that the compressor stops running the stop/start will not operate because the outside temperature is higher. Even here in Scotland where it isn’t tropical hot the stop/start will not operate in the summer if the outside temperature is higher than inside the car unless you turn the heater up to match the outside temperature! Only way to get around it is to inhibit the climate control - not great if you are in a city centre on a hot day and want to save the planet from exhaust fumes. Pangea Green D250 90 HSE with Air Suspension, Off-road Pack, Towing Pack, Black Contrast roof , rear recovery eyes, Front bash plate, Classic flaps all round, extended wheel arch kit and a few bits from PowerfulUK Expel Clear Gloss PPF to come
