Hello, friends!

The repair work is coming to an end, the guys are currently assembling the car.

There was a problem when installing the windshield. I bought a seal made by Britpart (this is one of the few non-original parts I purchased) and it is somewhat thicker than the original one. When installing the windshield (Russian-made with heating), it cracked in the side. The newly acquired glass suffered the same fate. The guys assumed that this was due to the fact that the seal is different from the original one. I bought an original sealer and the third glass in a row. Let's see what happens)

G-Class mirrors look quite at home there. Not sure about the side repeater but I imagine they are a lot more stable that the normal version.

That scares me... I need to replace my windscreen seal as need to paint the frame on my 1988 90. I had read that aftermarket seals are actually softer than genuine. I do not know if mine is britpart or not, but I know it is not genuine as the genuine ones are bloody expensive. 1988 90 Hard Top, 19J Diesel Turbo, Shire Blue - Restoration ongoing

The genuine seals have been "value-engineered" and are not as good as they used to be either.

I also like these mirrors on the Defender. The main purpose of their installation is, of course, electrical adjustment, which I am used to on other cars) The side turn indicators are also appropriate, since I don't have them on the wings)

I bought a Britpart sealer in the spring for about $ 17. The original one now costs from 118 dollars and more)

Previously, door cards "were kept on an honest word", now there is nothing to attach pistons to. I'll fix it later.

There was a problem when installing the windshield. Initially, a sealer manufactured by Britpart was purchased, and KMK-Glass (a Russian glass manufacturer) was purchased. During installation, the glass burst. We decided that it was either the glass or the rubber band, because it is somewhat different from the old one. When installing the second glass, it also burst…

We decided to change the rubber band to the original one, and since the guys were already afraid to insert the glass, a specialist was called, after which the glass fell into place.

And finally, the hour came when the car was returned to me beautiful and shiny!

So, in total, the car was repaired for about 5 months. The guys did the job, as I think on 4+.

The next stage of bringing to the ideal will be the work on the interior-cleaning, repair of door cards, sound protection, anti-corrosion treatment. It is also necessary to connect mirrors and solve some issues related to electrical glitches.

I took the car on July 20 and since then I have already managed to do some of the above, this will be written later.

Hello, friends!

After receiving the car from the body shop, I found that the air conditioner was not working. Moreover, in the winter it was refueled in the service, during the body repair I replaced the fan. I went to Survis, which specializes in Land Rover cars. The reason was found immediately - there was no corresponding fuse))

Are they quite rare there?

It looks really good you must be very pleased

I didn't think I would like the G wagon mirrors but in black they don't look as 'obvious' as some I have seen and actually look quite good.
