Rear anti roll bar link - bolt and bush disappeared x2
Just come back from a two week trip around the Pyrenees and 3k miles. Just before going had the anti-roll bar links, ball joint and bush/bolt assemblies changed on NSR and OSR - so new units. Towards the end of the holiday sat at the back of the truck having a pic-nic only to notice both sets of bolts/rubber bushes had disappeared (link and ball joints still connected to the axle) leaving the bar hanging free. Luckily a few days before I took some 'action' shots on video under the truck which just shows one of the bolts/washers looking decidely loose.

So question - is this a common phenomenon caused by off-road mileage and twisty hair-pin bends OR is it more likely the dealer didn't torque the bolts?

Your experiences please!

Funnily enough, I changed the lower rubbers on the front of my 110 a while back. fitted a new bolt (the old one had a lot of wear in it) but used the original nut.

Thought i'd done it up nice and tight, although it's awkward on mine as i've got a southdown lower axle guard.

A while later I thought my handling felt a little odd, looked underneath and the bolt had come out. rubbers & nut gone AWOL, luckily the bolt was rattling around in the axle guard.

new nut, fitted F-tight, seems to be OK now.

The one side fell out when we went to Land Rover Experience with the brand new vehicle. Looks like they didn't tighten it properly at the factory - along with a number of other things. Whistle --

Who needs anti roll bars?? My Camel Dicovery didn't have them. OK it cornered like a 2CV what sometimes scared my passengers. And it's better off-road without them. Twisted Evil Roel

Not much of a difference with/out the rear ARB in my 110". Though, do not know when loaded or with a roof rack. Puma 110" SW

I don't find that the AR bars on my 110 restrict axle travel much at all (although it is heavy, so i think the extra weight will force axle movement off road) but it handles a dream on road.

plus plus situation really!

With HD springs on the rear and a 2" lift with quite a bit of weight on the roof - a roof tent, side awning and heavy duty rack - so operational anti roll bar would have been useful - having said that it appears to have reasonable articulation over the rough stuff. But with lockers front and rear I'm not bothered if it pokes a wheel in the air or doesn't drop into a hole.
