I note in the Aussie Motoring Press that JLR have lost an appeal against Ineos/Grenadier relative to Grenadier's similarity to Defender.
Probably old news to you guys?....It just popped up in the Aussie Press.

I was led to understand this thread was a dedicated Grenadier section. However, the last post was 11 months ago. Is there a more popular place on this forum for Grenadier discussion?

Or maybe the site calendar is on the fritz. I see where the date of my post reads 7 Aug 2020.

I have a 90 Series Land Cruiser but the 70 Series is the true working LC. Dare I say it that the Grenadier will even be better in a lot of ways than the 70 LC especially if there is a pick up version. It would take a lot for an Aussie to change from his LC but this might just do it.

Someone has to do an AM bumper replacement. I’ll never, ever get used to that. But in every other regard, that’s a cracking looking beast. Monsieur Le Grenadier

Yes that front bumper is bad news.

But (like the similar bumper on the Wrangler) there's going to be options to replace it with something more aesthetically appealing.

Liking that split rear door!

Seems this car has been in the making for 10 years now. Bit like Monty Python's holy grail the storming of the French castle..

I think it’ll pay off with how long they’ve spent on development.

No one can say they’ve rushed it. 2008 2.4 110 Utility XS.

Looks wise it seems like something from the 70’s, and aside from the original chopper bike nothing looks good that was designed in the 70’s. Remember flares, platform shoes and very large collared shirts !
It reminds me how , due to the USA market, cars like jags and triumphs had to have horrible big plastic front bumpers, completely ruining the original design and look.

However, and it’s a very big however, I’m really warming to the vehicle, even the front bumper which makes more sense if a winch is fitted.

So like most, if not needing a winch I would probably fit one so it looks-to make sense, plus a soft A bar to improve the aesthetics. Else I would be looking for an aftermarket solution.

If ever my 110 meets its end, as I do not see myself ever selling it, then the grenadier will be my next vehicle, and I will dig out those flares, platform shoes and a garish wide collared shirt to drive it Very Happy
