Next job is to fit the tow hitch and decide what to put on the back, if anything. I’ve got a truckman Canopy which looks a bit too modern, plus I’ve got a set of sticks with canvas, and an i for Williams.
I like it without , but it’ll be far more useful with a cover on the back. 2006 TD5110 station wagon

So far so good, small leak from the power steering to sort out, and an adjustment on the exhaust where it passes the gearbox crossmember.

Just found and read all of this thread. Brilliant. Love your 110.

FWIW re: your dilemma over the back cover, I reckon go for the hood bows and canvas. I have an old MM Pickup with them on and it really looks the part, and is very practical. Reckon it would suit your 110 down to the ground.

Thanks for posting the progress. Enjoy. Thumbs Up

Thanks for your posts.
The canopy and sticks would look more in keeping with its age, I agree, and when the weather warms up a bit I’ll paint the original wheels in limestone and put them on. I’ve got a set of deestone extra traction tyres to go onto those and that’ll finish off the look of an early 80’s One Ten. I do quite like it with the wolf wheels but again, they’re
not right for that era of vehicle but they’ll do for now.
The reason I’ve got the Ifor Williams canopy on at the moment is that I need to establish what fittings I need for the sticks that the canopy goes over.
I guess a quick call to exmoor trim or similar will shed light on the situation.
I’m still pleasantly surprised by how useful it is, the hi cap tub is huge and has already carried numerous loads of all shapes and sizes.
I hope these vaccines prove to be the success we’re all hoping for, then we can all get back to some normality and the show scene and Land Rover based events can flourish once more. 2006 TD5110 station wagon

Very nice. You already know what I think of the early ones, Bows. Thumbs Up

Will you be painting the bulkhead?

With a bit of effort it can be done to match the ageing on the rest of the vehicle.

Well, I’ve been using it for a few months by now. What a machine!! I kept the original transfer box therefore the gearing feels a bit short on the 750 16 tyres. I’ve done a fair bit of local towing with it too which has been great, the shorter gearing really helps with the towing on local roads but I think I will be putting a standard 200 ratio transfer box in it. Other than the gearing being a little short, it’s been perfect. So relaxing to drive and so satisfying to own. I intend on taking it to the biking off road show, and hopefully we can plan some more trips in it over the coming months.

Here I am exiting the quarry yesterday , 2 tons of sub base in the back.

The only job I have planned on it, apart from routine maintenance is to paint the wheels, I had some take off steel wheels and latitude cross in 750 16 so I put them on as the original wheels were heavily pitted from rust, and the tyres were cracked. The later type wheels allow me to fit tubeless tyres when the need arises, thus giving me greater options when it comes to tyre choice. So far I can’t fault the michelins. 2006 TD5110 station wagon
