Disco 5
I've just done a bad thing and put a deposit on a second hand Disco 5 HSE - not for me, it will be the daily for Mrs H. The kids are getting closer to 6ft, so the A4 is just too small.

I'm now working really hard on ignoring oil dilution, crank and electronics warning lights flashing in my head. It is a 2017 with a whopping 19k miles on. It is under warranty with LR, but if there is a problem at least I've got the P38 to rely on....... Whistle Shocked

I was hoping that the oil dilution and crank issues were only on the older engines?

Don’t forget the failing windscreen seals which let water leak behind the instrument panel……..🧐

As ever it is hard to get a clear picture based on some Googling. How many vehicles actually suffered from the crank issue vs number sold. Ditto genuine oil dilution vs over sensitive sensor (and subsequent recalibration). I've got a TD6 coming which I think is the old D4 engine with the odd tweak. Fingers crossed!

Thanks Jim! Hopefully that has been sorted out by now.

I traded my 2017 TD6 in after 10 months as it was suffering oil dilution, from what I’ve been told the next owners had to get a new engine. Not sure if it was related to oil dilution or a separate issue. Other than that it was a nice enough motor.

I think if there are issues along those lines I’ll get the oil independently tested to understand whether it is dilution or the report of dilution. Obviously hoping not to have to worry about that sort of thing!

Trying to work out if my TransK9 box from the D3 and D4 (took up exactly half the boot) will fit in the D5. 🤔

Not sure, I think the slope of the rear screen may be an issue. 24MY 90 D250 HSE, Tasman Blue
