This maybe a daft question, and I hope it makes sense....

Would I be right in assuming that if the outer edge of a rim is 33mm further from the vertical face of the wheel (where the wheel nuts are) compared to a standard defender white steel rim, it is an et0 offset?

If the rim widths (the J number) that you are comparing is the same, then yes.

Edit.. somehow I was thinking about alloys.. but I see that you refer to 'standard steel'. I believe the offset for those is less than 33mm. So the answer might be No. 1988 90 Hard Top, 19J Diesel Turbo, Shire Blue - Restoration ongoing

The offset is a feature of the wheel rather than the vehicle.

The stud position (pitch circle diameter or PCD) on a Defender is not the same as an L405 Range Rover so wheels are not interchangeable. It might be the same as the new Defender though, if that's what you mean? Darren
