Too late now anyway, they now have the brushed look on the face, but most the time they are dirty anyway
Was thinking if the tyre is cutting a slightly wider rut it should help

Now I mounted BfG All Terrain KO2 LT255/70 R18 114/117S (which are three mountain/snowflake rated) on my steel rims, included the spare wheel.

They work great on snow đź‘Ť

Nope unfortunately, it will help against curbing, but off road your going to have things like stones, rocks, flint, etc. in ruts etc. that no tyre profile will prevent coming in to contact with your wheels. In fact off road, apart from the valve stem, you’d prefer something sharp/hard hitting your wheel rather than the relatively more vulnerable sidewall of your tyre.
