Surprised the Defender doesn't have a heated screen
Considering it is designed to be used in extreme conditions, I'm surprised it doesn't have a heated windscreen.

I'm partly pleased as the blooming of oncoming headlights from the filaments is slightly annoying, but it's not even an option. Seems weird.

Yup, definitely standard on UK cars. I’m surprised it wouldn’t be standard fit in other markets. 24MY 90 D250 HSE, Tasman Blue

What an idiot. I couldn't see it anywhere on my equipment list, but was just being blind. Indeed it does have it.

And heated seats are standard, again in the UK anyway. Toasty butt from the seats and hands from the screen, sorted! Laughing

Are you using LandRover.com website or LandRover.co.uk to create your spec, there is a difference between ROW and UK specs depending on the website.
My heated screens cleared in a minute this morning at -5C, pre-heater had the rest of the interior up to 20c in the 30 minutes run time too. Hope mine isn’t developing a problem with the front screen heater as the passenger side defrosted sooner than the driver’s but they did both clear completely as did the side windows once warm air started coming out of the vents. I even remembered to set the wipers to winter park mode and turn off the auto on mode. Pangea Green D250 90 HSE with Air Suspension, Off-road Pack, Towing Pack, Black Contrast roof , rear recovery eyes, Front bash plate, Classic flaps all round, extended wheel arch kit and a few bits from PowerfulUK Expel Clear Gloss PPF to come

Neither heated windscreen nor heated seats are standard in Germany.

Heated windscreen comes as a part of the Cold Climate Pack at 750 Euro.
Heated seats are at 380 Euro each for front and second row.[/code]

So to be clear, in the UK, you get heated screen in all models? (specifically in my case the S spec Neutral )
or do you need to spec the Cold Climate Pack?

I shall be building a list of 'we should just add these for reason X' items over the next few weeks before factory build spec is frozen. Have already planted this in SWMBO's mind, now we're getting past the initial shock of the number in the bottom right hand corner of the order form... Build yourself a car - on the configurator - download the personal brochure and you will see what you get included as standard - better than you can see during the config process.

But S Model has Heated Screen and Heated Front Seats.

I wonder if the Defender in my local UK dealer was a non-UK SE model then, as I looked very closely at the windscreen and couldn't see the filaments.

So when I (wrongly) couldn't see it on my spec, it confirmed to me that it didn't have a heated screen.

Just bear in mind also that what you get in the way of heated seats as standard is only heated FRONT seats, rears are not included even in the First Edition, so if you regularly carry rear seat passengers sentive to the cold you’ll have to add heated rear seats on the Interior options section of the configurator where you choose the colour of the interior Pangea Green D250 90 HSE with Air Suspension, Off-road Pack, Towing Pack, Black Contrast roof , rear recovery eyes, Front bash plate, Classic flaps all round, extended wheel arch kit and a few bits from PowerfulUK Expel Clear Gloss PPF to come
