Managed it with the tensioner off and fan in place - struggled due to a schoolboy error when drawing out the belt route.

Take a photo before you take told one off! Rolling with laughter Rgds.

It's so quick and easy to remove the fan it would be daft not to.

Hi guys, my 6 year old belt is making a bit of a swish-swish noise, so Ill throw a new 7PK2958 Contitech belt on it.

I'd like to do the rollers also - does anyone have part numbers for the rollers? Roaming around 🇳🇴🇨🇭

As Martin wrote, AISi8Cu3Fe is the chemical composition of the aluminum alloy used by die casting...... not the P/N

Do you happen to know what the part number would be for this piece?

For what it’s worth here are two photos showing the belt routing on a 2010 2.4 (no air con).
I took the viscous fan off and the tensioner which made the job easy, but prior to this when I tried to loosen the fan nut it wouldn’t budge, just moved the pulley wheel.
I bought a tool from BAS which you can hold the pulley with, but I found I couldn’t hold the tool with either a socket wrench or a breaker bar as there wasn’t enough room behind the fan blades.
(The nut on my fan assembly was quite short unlike the one on the photo on the BAS site).
So to get over this I had a wrench made by my ‘bro’ which had a 13mm sq bar end which fitted into the space I had.......pulley now captive, hit the spanner on the nut counterclockwise and bingo it was loose.
I found the BAS tool invaluable as I couldn’t see how I could hold the pulley captive without it.
NB my sketch isn’t to scale or anything but you can see the route that the belt should take.
S = smooth side and R = the ribbed side.

Pulley Bearing
I’m looking to swap out the bearings in both the idler pulley and tensioner.

PQH500100 Idler pulley

LR033497. Tensioner

Cannot seem to find the following bearings which are currently used.

NTN 6303LHA

NTN 6203LAX30

Can any one recommend a suitable bearing for these

Well I thought I better change my belt at 12yrs and 50k miles.
1/started the job and found I didn't have a 36mm open end spanner (put it back together and ordered a spanner)
2/ found no amount of tapping the spanner would remove the viscous fan (put it back together and ordered a BAS tool to hold the fan pully)
3/ BAS tool did not align with the holes by about 1/2mm!!, had to remove and grind a bit of thread off the 2 pins to make it fit!!.
4/ Found the spanner and BAS tool were a very tight fit between the fan and pully
5/ All went well after the fan was off until I discovered that one of the idler pully's bearing was noisy and had play in it. (new pully ordered of site sponsor (£80 with postage!!)

So a quick 15min job has taken 2 weeks so far.

Word of warning
I nearly put this job off and I found a knackered idler at 50k so glad I persevered and found it before total failure DEFENDER 90 TDCI XS,

I hope everyone is well and your land rovers make you happy

well it turns out the site sponsor does not have a genuine idler pully, so offered me Britpart!

have searched the web and just about everyone hasn't got a genuine one.

I think I have found one but time will tell.

This is the most prolonged simple job I have ever tackled Crying or Very sad DEFENDER 90 TDCI XS,

Update, despite several online suppliers offering genuine and Bearmach it appears they would then be happy to send Britpart!!

Unless I get one from Lithuania it appear that Genuine are now unavailable, it therefore looks like I will be forced to fit Britpart.

As soon as it comes I will be looking at replacing the bearings in the one coming off, unless of course people on here with Britpart ones can confirm there reliability. DEFENDER 90 TDCI XS,

I hope everyone is well and your land rovers make you happy
