Mine shows 12mths. I asked the salesman and he checked with LR who say it renews every 12mths for the 3 year period.

I’ve had the same problem. I bought a P240 HSE and it will not connect. I returned the vehicle after the weekend and for four days they couldn’t identify the cause of the problem. I am now waiting for the replacement vehicle.

From reading this article, it would appear that JLR have split out some functionality that was originally built into the two eSIM system: " One modem, along with eSIM in the Pivi Pro system, looks after in-car entertainment. Meanwhile, another modem in the Vehicle Domain Controller looks after SOTA downloads, telematics for e-call, b-call and stolen vehicle tracking, plus remote interaction to precondition your vehicle." and either the Pivi Pro has been changed to a physical SIM, or there's now an additional SIM required to create a vehicle hotspot.

Talk of Wifi access is confusing. As isn't there a difference between the ability of the vehicle to access an external WiFi network and actually creating it's own. If you have the car in your drive, you should be able to access your home WiFi but parked up in the hills you need the vehicle to create it's own.

MrEleven & LakesM~ do you have the nano SIM port or not?

Thanks. There is sim slot (as shown in the electronic handbook) in the vehicle that I purchased.

Interstingly, mine wouldn’t work when connected to the home wi-if either. I couldn’t, for example, add my own in control account even though the car kept asking me to enter my user name and password it would then say that it wasn’t connected. It didnt make any difference if my car tried to connect to the wi-if at home or indeed my phone as a WiFi hotspot. Likewise it wouldn’t connect on its own using the built in network. I do have some photos of the faults - but they won’t show much more than this.

Interesting. Sounds like yours had more fundamental issues.

Silly question - you had the Sim slot but do you know if there was a SIM in it?

Sorry that was a complete typing error (well auto correct by iPad) - there is NO sim slot!

If there’s no visible sim slot then I don’t think you have the WiFi pack.

No idea if that prevents using the car as a hotspot though.

Wifi pack isn’t an option on First Edition for some reason, seems an odd omission. If you configure a First Ed and go down to the options tab. I think the only option there is e-diff and there are no other tabs for Infotainment. Then spec any other model and in the Infotainment tab there is an extra cost option to have a WiFi hub. It may be something to do with having the fridge as standard on the FE cars. Pangea Green D250 90 HSE with Air Suspension, Off-road Pack, Towing Pack, Black Contrast roof , rear recovery eyes, Front bash plate, Classic flaps all round, extended wheel arch kit and a few bits from PowerfulUK Expel Clear Gloss PPF to come
2020 D240 1st Edition in Pangea Green with Acorn interior. Now gone - old faithful, no mechanical issues whatsoever ever but the leaks and rattles all over the place won’t be missed!

Hi All,
It was suggested this might be a better thread for a question which I appear to have stumped the dealer with.

!'ve just bought a 2020 defender 110 first edition (which I love btw) but I'm having trouble with the media streaming and the online data pack. Has anyone else heard/experienced this? If so could you share a fix? I think it has something to do with the R (for roaming in the guide) next to the sim network strength indicator. i.e. in central London all seems to work - deepest Yorkshire, not some much. Its not a big issue but one which is giving me headache.

Thank you in advance for any help! 2020 Defender 110 First Edition with a couple of factory options

Previous LRs
Discovery 5 (current now Wife's car)
Evoque - Also Wife's (previous)
Freelander (previous)
3 door RR V8 (Very Previous - but got me stated! Wink )
