Did it nibble away at the plastic panel in the top right of the photo as well, or is that how it arrived from the factory?!

Autoexpress didn’t include styling out of 10.

New Defender 1/10 (I’m being nice)
New Bronco 10/10

Thumbs Up Monsieur Le Grenadier

I've not been everywhere, but it's on my list.....

Has anyone considered taking the doors off their Defender since seeing the Bronco teaser images? I have. Asked Mrs Grenadier, apparently she doesn’t want wind in her face, to have her hair messed up and be deafened. Ho hum. Looks like I’ll have to dispose of Mrs Grenadier Whistle Monsieur Le Grenadier

I used to drive door-less regularly in my Series 1 80" until the day I was pursued by a rabid-looking German shepherd (dog, not person) with its eyes fixated on my right ankle and foam spraying from its slavering fangs. I was on a lane in Norfolk at the time and my maximum possible speed was about the same as that of the Hound of the Baskervilles. It was a little tense for a few minutes!

It really wasn't something that featured on my personal risk assessment until that moment but ever since I've tended to keep the door bottoms on for peace of mind. I guess it's that or pepper spray.

Well I guess they could Grenadier.

From another post it seems as though you have to remove the door just to fit the raised air intake, so they must unbolt.
But probably not a quick job to put them back on if it starts raining Rolling with laughter Rolling with laughter

And I'm sure one of the many onboard computers would throw a hissy fit if you tried to start the vehicle and drive off without the wiring looms attached. (Assuming it would even let you start it in such a condition).

I suspect the Bronco will have quick release wiring loom connections and door check straps like the Wrangler, to make removing the doors a simple process. The Wrangler internal door grab handle is also positioned and designed so you can put your hand right through it to ease carrying the door once removed.

There is a reasonable chance that the doors are structural on the new one, I would think. Removing them would certainly lessen your side impact protection on the new one, whereas it won't make any difference on the old!

With the wing mirrors missing and unable to unfold or the immobilizer operate the indicators to show that the security was disengaged I think it wouldn’t even start with the doors off........ Unless you used the remote engine start on the app which doesn't unlock the doors that aren’t there anyway!

I think Auto-Express have been a bit economical with the price of the Bronco in pounds, by the time it gets over here after a RHD conversion, modification for our type approval etc let’s say it’s more likely to be £45000 after taxes....... and if the RHD Mustang is anything to go by the paint peels off in the rain.......... it’s designed for Arizona and the Dakotas, not Scotland. On the few occassions I had to visit the Mini Centre with my last car I asked why so many Mustangs were in the forecourt...... it was because the Ford dealers down the road who are Mustang dealers for Scotland couldn’t repair them fast enough and sent them up to the BMW dealership’s body shop for remedial treatment corrosion on cars less than 2 years old....... Mustangs have worse quality issues than Land Rovers so I don’t see the all American Bronco being any better.

Wildlife - I hosed down my New Defender yesterday - 5 weeks old and 1000 miles in - it has carried over the old one’s affinity for spiders, all 4 of the big squircels at the back had webs in them as did the wing mirror housings, none inside though like on my old one. Pangea Green D250 90 HSE with Air Suspension, Off-road Pack, Towing Pack, Black Contrast roof , rear recovery eyes, Front bash plate, Classic flaps all round, extended wheel arch kit and a few bits from PowerfulUK Expel Clear Gloss PPF to come
2020 D240 1st Edition in Pangea Green with Acorn interior. Now gone - old faithful, no mechanical issues whatsoever ever but the leaks and rattles all over the place won’t be missed!
