It's good that you've a plan to get it sorted, and stay mobile in the meantime, but still a hassle to go through. A very good innings I'd say for the original engine.
Is the indie doing the rebuild or have you a plan for that too? Donald 1994 Defender 300Tdi 110 SW - owned since 2002 - 230k miles and going strong (The 'rolling restoration' or tinkering thread: http://www.defender2.net/forum/topic58538.html ) 2000 Range Rover P38 4.0L V8 in the past.. RR classic - fitted with 200Tdi 1984 RR classic - V8 with ZF auto box 1993 Discovery 300Tdi not to mention the minis and the Type 2 VW camper... |

Yes it could be Donald a load of hassle if you let it but my glass is always half full, which helps, i was able/lucky to use the wife's car, yesterday and today as she needs it for her work so i'm picking up a hire van tomorrow for a week, which in that time i am hoping that i will have Millie back by then
As my indie is very busy with work, i have some one else to do the re-build of the engine as they enjoy doing it 1996 Golf Blue 300Tdi 110 Pick up. Keeper. |

I don’t think the old engine owes you a penny!!
How many other cars would you just bang another engine into? Pretty everything else would just be scrap at this stage. From a sustainability perspective this has to be greener that any battery or PHEV vehicle with a 10 year life span? |

Not sure yet Steve, it will be rebuilt as if it came out the factory but with a Turner head on it and the only item i would put on it if i can get hold of one would be a VNT turbo 1996 Golf Blue 300Tdi 110 Pick up. Keeper. |
