How to remove the 2nd row seats from 110 - not the brackets
I have had a search around on this topic but most of what I find relates to removal of the 3rd row seats or removal of the 2nd row seats including the floor brackets.

I am wondering how to just remove the 2nd row seats (or at least the 60% one) and I am not bothered about the brackets being left behind.

It looks as simple as just undoing the bolts that connect the seat bases to the floor brackets but there is a fairly stiff spring lurking there and I am worried what might happen once I get the spanners out Embarassed

Can anyone shed any light on this process, like is it safe or are there any precautions that I need to take. Also do they go back in alright or does the spring make life difficult.

Thank you in advance everyone.

Is there a particular reason to leave the brackets in? It's very easy to remove the seats with the brackets. 2007 110 TDCi Station Wagon XS

I was planning of leaving the brackets in because I assume they probably bolt through the floor and leave a load of holes.

If they’re anything like the tumbledown seats, removing the nut doesn’t allow the bracket to easily slide off the rod attached to the seat, they’re pressed on very firmly indeed (or at least mine were).

They do, but you can just put the bolts back in the holes. From memory it is a mixture of bolts and studs. 2007 110 TDCi Station Wagon XS

It is just the bolts and yes that spring is nasty Smile

Put some styrofoam or similar in the rear footwell to support the seat once it is off.
It's a while back but I think I started removing the 4 screws, then folded the seat over then unscrewed the 2 nuts - while doing that be careful. I think it is the left hand side spring that wants to hit you. They "relax" into different positions. Ah, well.. I'll post some pictures Smile

As for the brackets, it's just 6 screws. Their nuts are below the floor and can slide to and fro (don't know how they are held in place exactly). Just put the screws back in, maybe add rubber washers.

With our camper conversion I can put the seat back in if I need to. I made a cut out in the wooden floor for the brackets. However I mount it without the plastic cover. I cut off some pieces to have a smaller footprint.

Oh, and you can't fully unfold the seat after removal. The bracket seems to unlock the folding mechanism somehow.

Well, following such a 'complete' reply it would be rude of me not to remove the brackets as well.

I will attack it tomorrow.

Thank you everyone.

very simple to remove as above. if your leaving brackets in the lower of the two forward mounting bolts only needs to be undone, its a slotted fit. makes it easier to align them when refitting.

yes that spring is strong. A7E job when the wife was helping me lift seats out, well it would of been A&E but it was a weekend sowould of been busy and its miles from the house so i glued it back up. will never be quite right, should of been stitched. Cheers

Just to reiterate, they are bloody heavy, especially the 2/3rds bit
