Splendid news that Captain (Colonel) Tom Moore is to be knighted. A more deserving person to recieve a knighthood I cant think of. My Dad was from the same generation, the ones who looked adversity in the face and just got on with it without complaint. Makes you wonder how the Snowflake generation would cope if God forbid they ever had to with real trials and tribulations.

I think that's pejorative and unjustified comment re the snowflake generation.

Credit where it's due, he's galvanised a sentiment and the 'snowflakes' and many others contributed to charities. JB

Snowflakes. Rolling Eyes

This photo of Sam Smith One week into lockdown in his, (because he is a ‘he’), £6m London house, says everything that is wrong/wet/snowflake/self-absorbed/mopey/holier-than-though/virtue-signaling/b-list-celeb-obsessed about so many (not all) British teens, twenty and thirty somethings. And this crisis has simultaneously brought out the best in us - Sir Tom, the NHS, the imagination of people living at home, the community spirit, and the worst in us - the constant moaning, The political points scoring, the lack of imagination at home, the acting as if the world is going to end, the public spaces selfishness, and I’m not sure we’ll be in a better place after normality resumes.

Blackwolf, your paths may (in a teeny weeny way) have crossed, as this fellow sang the theme tune to Spectre. So if you've seen it, you have experienced some 'Sam Smith'. Beyond that and his self publisising as a Space Globule (well highlighted 90 Dreamer), which had of course to be plastered all over the BBC, Ch4, Guardian, Independent etc, I know little else about him. Monsieur Le Grenadier

No, I am happy to say I am none the wiser. I haven't seen Spectre (I no longer have the patience to sit through the farce that is a Bond film because I am now a grumpy - and intolerant - old man), and as for the rest of your excellent explanation, well I recognise the words but have no idea what you're talking about! Thumbs Up

The pictures earlier in the thread also suggest that he is the sort of weirdo I would go to some lengths to avoid (and no doubt he'd say the same about me, which is fine)!

I love the fact that someone thought it a good idea to take a piccy if him on their phone .......to share on ‘soshul meejia’ and get lots of sympathetic likes.

Still. Maybe, he’s just constipated?
