Bolt thread size please
Hi all,
Due to still having a VERY basic tool kit still ( rest in storage )
The four bolts that are in a square pattern that hold on the plastic facia around the headlamps and front lights on a TD5
What thread size are they ? I’m guessing M4 maybe ?

I’m ordering up some black stainless mushroom headed ones to replace the std manly ones at present,

Thanks in advance folks & stay safe out there Thumbs Up

Defo not self tappers,
And what does no8 mean ? The only no8 I know is in wood screws Thumbs Up

It’s a normal wind in bolt, just not got nothing available to measure it

Thanks for the time in replying Thumbs Up

Looking at this photo from your gallery, this is a non-standard fitting method. Hex-head bolts/screws have been used instead of the originals between the headlamp and the grille, plus an extra two between the headlamp and the signal lamps which aren't there as standard.

They come up on offer from time to time

It came from the factory / dealer with plastic covers to protect the headlamps, so that’s why it has the extra fixings , sadly it was three weeks old when a pheasant took them out Rolling Eyes

M8 means dia of threaded section is 8mm in dia.

The bolt head should be fit a 13mm spanner but knowing Land Rover it could be any size.

edited to correct spanner size from 10 to 13 mm. Don't make old people mad.

A standard M8 has a 13mm head size. Wink
Self-tapping screws are similarly sized to wood screws by number.

I would take one out and measure the diameter, I have removed over the last week or two that I thought would be M6 bolts only to find they were in fact M8 with a smaller hex head. When I was in engineering we called them lost heads. Don't make old people mad.
