Its happened again !!!!
Bloody gearbox to transfer box shaft has stripped again. After last years debarkle with fitting the new shaft assy and all the leaks afterwards. Replacement gearbox beginning of the year and bang its happened again.
I have fitted the Ashcroft lubricated kit this time with new alignment dowles lets hope it all stays together this time.

Another one where it looks as though the shaft has slipped out of the cup resulting in a reduced contact area. Is it possible that it was assembled incorrectly without the locking spring ring engaged properly?

What's the mileage on your Defender now? I always like to ask because it's so impressive!

I thought it looked like it had slipped back the whole lot fell apart when I dropped the transfer box off. If everything is under control you are not going fast enough.

Hopefully the Ascroft kit will also limit the extent to which the parts could disengage in the event that the spring ring fails.

Impressive mileage, well done!
