I keep thinking about getting one of these it's the only model Range Rover I have not had and then I remember why I bought TD5 discovery which beats a P38 hands down in the day ,but now I'm a very low mileage driver and as a 2nd car that looks lovely .

I’ll write this quietly but all I’ve really done so far is put petrol in and drive. I gave the front seats a bit of a clean but that’s it. 500 odd miles of just pootling along at 16 mpg. In an armchair. The next major job is to find my old cassette collection and put it in the glove box, back to the days of Dolby....

Great looking RR.

We had a P38 for a couple of years and really loved it, great ride, so comfortable, shame it had to go. I won't tell you why since you've just bought one Whistle

Have fun! James

I’d guess at something electronic, it looks pretty straightforward mechanically!

Well, the P38 just had a big service and the ABS / Traction control warning fixed. The front right sensor had been damaged when the ball joints were replaced. Despite numerous new sensors, the warning kept coming up. It turned out the when the ball joints had been done the pre-loads hadn't been set correctly therefore the sensor wasn't in the right position. The 'only' thing playing up now is the XYZ switch, which I'm going to source second hand - new ones are daft money and there isn't much labour involved, so worth a shot. Other than that she just needs about £3k of body work to tidy her up Shocked I think I'll wait until the storm blows out before committing to that, but I need one garage queen!

The 300tdi pick up appears to have a leak from the crank seal. Awesome. She is now with 4x4 Development having that done and a replacement turbo (they have the parts and will drop in a new cassette) and possibly a new steering box. It will be good to have a non leaking / dripping pick up back. Although the fields are too wet to get on (lots of timber to collect) and apart from the local shop we aren't going anywhere!

Here is a random puppy picture. Moley is 9 weeks old and this was taken about 2 hours after a trip to the vets because she was all floppy (running a temperature and off food). Amazing how quickly they bounce back:

Deep joy. The xyz switch on the P38 is playing up and I can’t get neutral or park and therefore can start her. Censored . The Audi had a cracked windscreen and today I spotted a massive pot hole gouge in the tyre. The 90 is stuck at the menders. The 110 sold. I’m left with a 1999 SLK. Hairdressers scissors on the way 🤦‍♂️

Shame I sold the engine as the Nissan engine in the Sandringham 6x6 is gutless (although haven't tried tuning it yet). Although I am thinking a 3.6TDV8 or Merc 3.2 straight 6 would work well in it Whistle Ed

Slight thread resurrection but look at the price of this pair! I know he charges like a wounded rhino but even so....

1.£24k: https://graemehunt.com/inventory/515/2001-range-rover-vogue
2. £16k: https://www.graemehunt.com/inventory/485/2...er-edition

Outliers or a sign of prices on the rise for good ones?

United Kingdom 2015 Defender 110 Puma 2.2 XS CSW Montalcino Red
I've noticed a couple of P38's have popped up in classic auctions of late and seem to be gaining stronger prices. They appear to be splitting clearly into two classes now, the cherished keepers and those to become parts doners.

Its one of the vehicles on the bucket list if I ever get the time/money/space to have another toy, even if just for a short period. I think the design has aged well and doesnt look to dated at all. 2007 - Stornoway Grey 90 XS SW - Gone
2002 - Black Discovery II - Gone
