2011 Defender 110 Puma 2.4 USW Keswick Green

Well the time came to get the hardtop done. Crack in the chassis plus a few other issues late last year kind of made the decision for me.

Chassis, bulkhead and radiator panel will be fully rebuilt. Body will be sorted maybe next year depending on funds.

I don't know of a source of accurate 1 ton chassis.

This is *not* a new chassis, it is my original chassis fully repaired, using as much of the original material as was practical. It has been dipped so I think will be tidied up (eg weld seams) and then galvanised before painting. They made sure the original stamped chassis number was left in. 2011 110 USW

Can I ask who did the chassis repairs for you (PM if you prefer)?

I have a S1 chassis in need of some major welding which I don't really have the time (nor probably the skill) to do.

Ah, excellent. From the picture I thought you'd bought a new galv one but repairing and re-using the original on a vehicle like this is much better. Darren

A long way from you Blackwolf but Jim Gardner at Leaf Sprung Landys in Lancashire is an excellent welder/fabricator.

No I wouldn't re-chassis one. Some might say it's now a replica or something. I don't see it like that, I see it as being properly repaired so it will now outlive me. 2011 110 USW
