Remove the centre panel and you will see there are two metal spacers fitted to either side of the radio aperture hole. These need to be removed with a screwdriver to allow the new radio cage to be fitted. I found it easier to mount the radio by first fitting it into the centre panel and then refitting the panel complete as this gives you a chance to route the radios cables clear of the rear metal bracket when refitting.

hi
had this trouble with mine .managed to remove the metal clips without removing the whole centre get a small bladed screwdriver in right at the bottom and pull towards the centre of radio hole. slow and steady pressure as these are fitted as non return push fit. but them do come off. the second one will be easier as you then know how hard you need to prise. good luck ![]() s3 swb soft top |

"Head unit won't fit."
Should this not be in the "adult" section of the Off Topic section? Or is he just trying to make the rest of us jealous? ![]() 1992 110 200tdi csw -Zikali 2008 110 2.4 tdci csw-Zulu 2011 110 2.4 tdci csw-Masai |

![]() Managed to get the spacers off without taking the centre console out. Managed to catch the first one, but the second one flew off behind the dash somewhere ![]() Slipped right in (oo err), and impressed with how much better it sounds even with the standard speakers! Still sounds crap, just a little bit less crap. ![]() |
