Hm, welding seats solves the "How do I hold a bracket there?" conundrum. In my CSW though it would mean losing the ability to fold seats forward.
My existing second row seats are already moved back to increase leg room and seatbelts mounted through a plate above the rear sliding window by previous owner. I can't imagine there is much strength there at all. Even if I made up a beefy steel bracket to go down to the tub, around the window, I can't see it holding in a crash. Although no crash in a Defender is going to be fun. |

End of the day its the seatbelts thatd holding in the event of a crash not the seat.

bankz1512 is right, it's the seat belts that hold you not the seat.
The bracket is one of the reasons why I went USW rather than kept the window, I didn't have to worry about keeping visibility. The original LR method is only a little (albeit beefy) bracket in the corner of the C pillar. It's only held in by (from memory) 4 little M6 bolts but it's the design of it that takes the brunt by spreading the load into the corner. Ed 82 Hotspur Sandringham 6x6 95 Defender 110 300Tdi |

I did replace mine with 10.9M8s and A4 Form g washers and A4 nylocs bit more meaty! Instagram @defender_ventures

Could I trouble pic of your front seats please. I can’t see how I’m gonna get the fronts in and have space for me legs under the steering wheel without altering seat box ??? Or me legs.. legs would probably be easier but walking the dog would then be a problem.

How high are they at the front. From seat box top to top of seat cushion please.. Anyone want some heated, electric and cooled rrs fronts ? Lol |

L322 seats with bog standard Defender steering wheel...
 OK it's a little tight but perfectly driveable and after 3 years I can honestly say I wouldn't go back!
Don't know if the sport seats are the same as the 04MY L322 ones but I did remove the bracket and motor that does the front of the squab adjustment. Didn't do anything else - just simply removed it, yes the front does flop around a little but you're sat on it most of the time so no flop. Ed 82 Hotspur Sandringham 6x6 95 Defender 110 300Tdi |

I sat the seat on top of seat box ( pass side) and measured to top of cushion.. then when offered up to drivers side I won’t have space for legs under the wheel. So if I can figure out how to power up I can see if the front behind the knee bit is currently raised up. I’m assuming there’s no winding mechanisms in case of power failure ?? |

I'd take an educated guess that the two big fat wires are the 12V supply to the control board.
The motors themselves if they've just got two wires will be normal DC motors so you can probably connect 12V directly to them to spin them over. There's no manual adjustment I think. Ed 82 Hotspur Sandringham 6x6 95 Defender 110 300Tdi |

That’s kinda what I was guessing.
Might try tomorrow to put power to the red fat one. Black fat to Earth .. I would assume the grey with red trace ( also a fat one) is switch live maybe ?? |

Is the cooling built in? Might be a supply for that.
You might get a hint if you can find a diagram of the fuse box in the original vehicle. That would atleast help narrow down what circuits are fed independently. Ed 82 Hotspur Sandringham 6x6 95 Defender 110 300Tdi |
