James - might be a possibility of sorts Whistle

The pup (well she's just turned 3), Tali, is hopefully in pup, if all goes to plan expected end of Feb. There was a possibility they might have been related to Indy (Jon and Sarah's lab) but that didn't pan out. Ed

Nice, and interesting! Just wondering: anyone know if a DCPU is the same as a 130 HCPU, cab wise? Defender 130 HCPU Td5 MY2000

130s had a different rear bulkhead. Which meant they had a little more room at the back of the seat. There’s a couple threads on this website about putting two front seats in the back. Which gives loads of room. 2011 Defender DCPU 2.2 - https://www.defender2.net/forum/topic30623.html

Thanks Roy! I am aware of the other threads you're referring to, however I wasn't aware of the different bulkhead. Defender 130 HCPU Td5 MY2000

That plus no wheel arches in the cab, also helps with the space!

Thanks for the comments Very Happy Instagram @defender_ventures

Show me a picture of the connector - if it's like the L322 one then the motors are simply powered by the two large spade terminals. Ed

I will post up when I do it but Its very low down on my list.

The hard part is working out which wires run the seatbelt dinger and which run the heater.

Once i find that ill be wiring the heated seats in to the LR wiring Instagram @defender_ventures

Nice work!

sako243, can I ask where the upper setabelt mounting points are on the outer rear seats? Are they integral to the seat, or fixed to the bodywork?

Bodywork, they're normally part of the C pillar in the L322 but clip into the seat frame itself.

I fabricated a mounting bracket in a similar construction to the way that a 110 SW has the seat belts bolted to (basically a thick steel plate with reinforcing gussets that bolts in the front-upper corner of the rear window panel). My new one necessitated a change to a utility wagon back (which I was planning already) and there's a spreader plate that goes from the top of the tub with several bolted fixing points all the way up to the panel / roof joint and another spreader along there. More substantial and better spreading than the original LR design. This bracket also includes the sticky out bit that the seat back latches into and the seat belt bolts onto it.

The belts needed changing for longer ones too because the standard station wagon ones are too short.

Also you need to ensure that you have the brackets on the "floor" for the seats to latch into because those trigger the seat belt release and allow you to tip the seat back. If you don't have the floor "handles" then the seat won't fold backwards completely. Ed
