LED Sidelights
Hello hello,

I have installed LED sidelights on the front and back of my defender, after doing so when I put the light switch to sidelights it also puts power to headlights!

Is there any way of stopping this?

Are your headlights running on relays?

Either way, there is a resistor which gives a small amount of power to the headlights when the switch is set for sidelight only, you can disconnect it by bypassing the relay behind the dash or disconnecting the resistor.

^^^^ This. I believe IIRC I had the same issue. Disconnecting the resistor did the trick. Then I fitted sealed blanks to the plugs to seal off once disconnected. Under the drivers side wing on a RHD and a 2 pole econoseal connector if I remember rightly. Diesels Lives Matter. ⛽️🛢️👨‍🔧🧰⚙️

Don't mean to derail the thread but always thought the front side lights would make suitable DRLs.
Is this a common mod?
