Cheers Simon. It’s taken a bit of fettling. The Fox Lower bushes were so Stiff they were preventing proper articulation of the joint. I’ve replaced them with standard LR bushes and it has made a world of difference. There is a still a light clunk at extremes, so whichever bush that was being over-articulated before still needs sorting (once I find it!), but the difference in ride is remarkable.

One thing you will be pleased about is that Liam (LikeOMG on here) came round last night to pick up the old bilstiens and now having looked around his 90 it looks like I’ll be spending a few more quid on mine yet, possible starting with an alcantara head lining! There are now 2 of you to blame for my descending bank balance!

Get thee behind me, Satan!

Trouble is, I think I want Pete's (BAS) turbo even more.

I've just driven my usual short test route to make sure the new Alive rear ARB is all done up properly and my goodness, it's excellent. The cornering is much more controlled and wallowing greatly reduced.

I've no idea how much more difference new shocks and springs would make, but as a very easy modification that has immediate and noticeable benefits, it ranks alongside my BAS 170 tune as the best one I've done so far.

If you have a 110 and can afford it, I'd get it:

Thanks to all who suggested it.

The only problem I've found with my Alive one is it sits so close to the edge of the metal fuel tank undertray that on my test drive, the powder coating of the bar had rubbed on the undertray.

A quick adjustment of the edges of the tray with a pair of tinsnips produced a slightly larger gap. I tried loosening all the ARB clamp nuts and moving it away, but it didn't make any difference.

The Alive website says "This kit assumes the vehicle already has standard Anti-Roll bars fitted. Other components for the whole assembly are not supplied, but can be ordered by phone on 01472 812900"

Were ARB's only fitted to later vehicles? As my 2007 doesn't have one!

Keen to get the Alive one fitted!

Thinking I can probably retrofit one with this kit? https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Rear-Anti-Roll-...4011573088 > 110 XS Double Cab

I'm not sure if/when they were fitted but some folks who off-road remove them as they believe it limits articulation. My 2010 110 came with a rear anti roll bar but like many I replaced it with the stiffer Eibach version which improves road manners. Btw Alive don't actually make an anti-roll bar they just sell the Eibach. WARNING.

Eibach don't seem to list an ARB for the Defender on their site:

https://www.eibachshop.co.uk/info-anti-roll-kit

I think Alive had them made specially by Eibach and you can't buy them elsewhere. My Alive one has an Eibach sticker on it and nothing else though.

I bought mine from my indy. Most decent Defender specialists will have them.
Twisted, Bowler, Arkonik etc all use the same Eibach items. WARNING.
