200tdi front stub axles
Hi
Im new to this forum and need help with a problem I have with new stub axles.
Ive fitted the bronze thrust washer to the stub axle after checking it will fit the cv axle.
After pressing this into the axle it now wont fit to the cv axle.
Am I missing something?

Thanks

Pressing the bronze Bush onto the stub you mean and now on assembly the cv doesn't stick out of the stub far enough?

If so take stub off, reseat shaft/cv and go again Cheers

I’ve had this with poor quality aftermarket bronze bushes, the CV doesn’t fit into them properly once they’re fitted into the stub axle.

Normal engineering practice with bushes of this type is to reamer them to size after fitting, but this shouldn't be necessary in this application.

Hi
What I found strange was when removing the old bush from the old stub axle it then didn't fit the cv shaft it was originally fitted to.
