Best heater in the world was Series III Smiths in a military lightweight. Just take the hoses off the windscreen vents and place each up a trouser leg held in place with your trouser trists. Thumbs Up

Thanks all for the pointers. I've removed the vent so will make a note to clear out the drain plug more often. Very Happy

Prior to fitting the blower was like an asthmatic blowing through a straw.

Its still very much like an asthmatic blowing through a straw but doesn't smell of rotting vegetation now.

Heater boxes on the earlier models had the drain fitted to the end of a hose, this discharged into the relevant wheel arch. Might it be possible to retrofit such a device? It is not a Defender, it is a One_Ten

Quite by chance I happened upon this today ~ who'd have thought it was actually a thing:

I have just removed my KBX wingtop and replaced it with a snow cowl I was somewhat unsure about the appearance but I’m delighted with it and the heater output is identical so win win

Fascinating. I experienced quite the opposite: exchanged my snow cowl with the KBX "Hi-Force Air Intake". The resulting air intake especially in fan speed 0 rose considerably when driving. Even at lower mach speeds.
